T

IVERTON

The day started successfully with the well organised Women at the Game event which was enjoyed by a good number of new supporters. Unfortunately it was very disappointing that the fracas caused by the Tiverton centre half tainted the day and unfortunately this led to some of our players letting themselves and the club down with their reactions to the incident.

After the furore had calmed down, the game settled to become a normal match with no animosity displayed by either side. We conceded two poor goals to give Tiverton a huge advantage but I do feel that if our effort that hit the post before their second goal had gone in it may well have seen a different outcome.

I felt we dominated the second half and put their defence under a great deal of pressure. However the way their goalkeeper performed, and with their defence putting their bodies on the line, Tiverton probably deserved their victory.

KINGS LANGLEY

With the prospect of the League Cup final on Wednesday I decided to rest a number of players and give other players the chance to shine. I have to say I was very pleased with the response from these players selected and despite the very heavy conditions I thought we played some attractive football and created a number of chances we should have scored from.

The second half saw us open the scoring with a fortunate goal but I was not complaining! I felt we were still in control of the game and when we scored our second goal that should have been game over. However some naïve mistakes were made that meant we nearly gave away two points.

FROME

We have always had close contests with Frome and despite their manager leaving this week I do not think Saturday's game will be any different. It will be good to see Connor Roberts return and it was unfortunate that due to unforeseen circumstances it did not work out for Connor at Hitchin.

We are still on target for a top ten finish and it is important we secure the three points to keep on course.

HEREFORD

We have a very attractive fixture on Monday as we lock horns with champions elect Hereford. I hope our supporters come out in force as I know there will be a large away following and I do not want it to be like a home game for Hereford.

I have very fond memories of our last two competitive matches against Hereford at Top Field and would love to make it a hat trick on Monday.
